Pranav Avasarala: Founder

Pranav Avasarala is a freshman at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut and TJHSST alumni.

Pranav is currently leading the new Yale chapter of Funbotics in association with Yale Pathways to Science. He is also a member of Yale Leadership Institute’s “The Leadership Education and Development (L.E.A.D.)” program and Yale Undergraduate Diversified Investments (YUDI) Program.

Pranav is a firm believer that everyone must do their part to empower the youth to participate in and enjoy STEM..

Pallavi Avasarala: Founder

Pallavi Avasarala is a freshman at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina pursuing a Major in Neuroscience and TJHSST alumni.

She is an active member of DUKE Emergency Medical Services and is also working as clinical research scholar, conducting studies on Post Operative Cognitive Disease (POCD) under the guidance of Dr. Miles Berger, MD, PhD, Duke Institute for Brain Sciences.

Sahiti Rachakonda: Chief Operating Officer

Sahiti is a sophomore at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia.

She loves arts and technology equally and aspires to apply technology to benefit biological sciences through her future studies. Given her role as the eldest of eight cousins, she loves working with children. She hopes to lead Funbotics through her passion for technology and strong belief in contributing positively to the community around.

Sohan Sunku : Vice President & Curriculum Director

Sohan Sunku is a Junior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

He has a passion for building and creating things, and from a very young age has been experimenting with robotics. In high school, Sohan is the President of the the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle club, where he teaches others how to build and safely operate drones and compete in AUVSI.

In his free time, Sohan participates in drone racing, 3D printing and helping friends in their home renovation projects.

Akshath Chikkam - Vice President & Event Director

Senior at Oakton High School who loves to spend time with his robotics team competing in both FRC and FTC. Captain and Officer of a top 25 national school rocketry team, qualified for NASA Launch.

I’m a passionate teacher and tutor at the Russian School of Mathematics. You can also find me mentoring younger robotics fanatics through and Comets FLL team.

I plan to apply my skills as a STEM leader and coach to a career in finance.


Jay Rachakonda : Event Manager

Jay is an 8th grader in Rachel Carson Middle School in Herndon, VA.

His early engagement in STEM activities such as Virginia Science Olympiad (VASO), First Lego League Robotics Competition (FLL), American Computer Science League(ACSL) and eCyberMission have instilled in him a love for science and technology. His team was selected as National Finalists for eCyberMission and were also granted $5000 in 2017 to implement their solution for a watershed problem in their elementary school.

Jay is proud to have contributed positively to his school through this grant and loves to volunteer his time to share his knowledge. He continues to pursue his technology passion through FTC and CyberPatriots programs.

In his free time, Jay enjoys playing tennis, soccer and Fortnite and is an active member of his Debate Club at Rachel Carson.
